Kazuya has two main anti-projectile options; Mist Step will let Kazuya move through incoming projectiles, and Demon Godfist can be used to kill incoming attacks if timed correctly, similar to SSF4 AE Yun’s Kobokushi (qcb+P).

Mist Step | |
| It’s a little scary just how much of an opponent’s game Kazuya can downright cheat his way out of. Mist Step is invulnerable to all projectiles except Juri’s LK Fuhajin and Sagat’s Low Tiger Shot, most standing normals and specials, and can be repeated for prolonged invulnerability once you’ve gotten used to the strange notation. Speaking of which, it isn’t enough to perform a simple Dragon Punch Motion; the neutral input is crucial to execution. | ||

| Just as in Tekken, there is actually a distinction between this hidden move and a regular Rising Uppercut. By timing your Medium Punch for the exact frame you finish the Mist Step input, your Rising Uppercut will become a EWGF, increasing damage on hit and block, launching the opponent more vertically to allow for easier juggles, and pushing the opponent back further on block to minimize the chance of a counter. If you intend on learning Kazuya, there is literally no reason why you shouldn’t practice the hell out of this. | ||
