The change that everyone is talking about for Chun Li is the one made to her Hyakuretsu Kyaku input. As her super is Senretsu Kyaku, it makes sense from a practical perspective; how else would someone be able to supercharge Hyakuretsu, an otherwise button-mash move? The practical upshot for Chun Li players is a simpler command, easier to time as a tool against aggression. As a Supercharge special, it’s also a viable threat to opponents trying to zone her out with fireballs; if Chun Li reaches full charge with it, the Super will go through projectiles. That all said, Chun Li’s best used at mid-range, using the far-reaching st.HK to keep opponents away and avoid low pokes.

| Good for maintaining pressure and good position, safe on block, and the LK, MK and EX versions are combo-able afterwards (EX with a ground bounce). EX version can also be used to punish projectiles. | ||

| With the new roll recovery feature, many characters will have a hard time maintaining their advantage after a hard knockdown. Chun Li is not one of these characters; the massive lateral reach on either side with her jumping roundhouse can catch an opponent on wake up whether they rolled or not. It’s also a reliable air-to-air. | ||
