BlazBlue 3 Announced

While Capcom’s hint at a new game turned out to be a miscommunication, Arc System Works actually did have something to show off; the next installment of BlazBlue.  Subtitled Chrono Phantasma, the game is slated to feature three new characters along with a host of other features.

Joining the cast is Amane Nishiki, an androgynous evil-sounding man that fights with plumage; Bullet, a mercenary close combat specialist with a fighting style more than a little reminiscent of Makoto; and Azrael, an older gentleman who just loves to sock people.

Eager to fight the image of an effortless rehash, ASW have also let slip the degree of work being put into the game; a number of the characters have been entirely resprited, with various characters having different costumes, battle stances and all new attacks.  Series postergirl Noel Vermillion for instance has ditched her old beret in this new outing for free flowing hair, as well as changed her weapons, and new villain Hazama has a new Distortion Drive.  On top of that there’s also a new host of stages and BGMs in the works.
